Mushrooms and Dogs

This time of year is one of my favorites. The temperature is coming down and the days are calm and cool. All we need is some rain and the mushroom season is upon us. Started out early-ish this morning walking the dogs made a be line for the cold eastern slopes and there they were. White circles of flavour still dew covered and fresh. Only the eastern faces are bearing results as its still to warm for the other areas to flourish.
Morning early up in the hills with my dogs is just the best part of a day no one around and very little sound. The world wakes up around you but for those few early hours life is simple and all thoughts are clearer.
The dogs run harder and are more alert than in the summer its just the same for them its an exciting time of the day and year.
Road the colonial knob loop yesterday it was warm but fine drizzle for most of the trip. Found the Ohariu road track and followed it out what a cool track through farm and pines.
The loop was 42 km long but heaps of evil climbs and a few down hill walks.I road great and loved the day. Coming back for more soon weight down an other kg fitness looking good.
Cheers
